Featured Estate sale glass

A great many glassmakers and furnaces don’t polish the bases, especially studio ones. It can be a very deliberate choice. Nothing new in it, I’ve two hundred year old glass with pretty rough bases.

 

(sigh) Another theory gone.

 

Do the Chinese fake lables? This one has a label on it.

 

Fingers crossed that only the Italians did it.

 

There’s a slew of fake Murano labels out there. Not done by Chinese makers but by unscrupulous dealers. One of my Facebook groups has a whole album of them. Chinese glass isn’t fake, they’ve been making excellent stuff for millennia, long before Murano. The problem is the damn sellers.

I’d need a close up of that.

 

I just looked at the Murano Facebook group. It suggests that this label could go both ways. It is on fake pieces and legit pieces. So I guess I will see if I can get them to weigh in on it.

Yup, good fish.

 

Ate some smoked rainbow trout in my lunch sammie. Now THAT is some good fish.(LOL) THese are pretty, well-made Italian fish. Hope CFH scored!

 

Love rainbow trout! It was a good price on my fish. I also got the Baccarat parrot and a couple of Baccarat angels. The wine hocks were a bit expensive, so I left them.

 

Love that aquarium. Glad you grabbed it!

 

And the parrot! Baccarat is always a Nab-Me if the price is right.
