My last big find for the day is what I believe to be an authentic WW2 field phone. I will post a separate thread of it, with the details I've learned on it, separately. I was blown away to get it.

Movie cameras like that have passed through my hands. They are such beautiful little machines.

    How wide is the film?
Or how long is the piece of wood it's on?

It looks like some sort of straight-load, so maybe 120? 2.25x2.25 or so negs?

Pickings are grim lately. This little basket caught my eye. I thought it African but havent been able to match it .The wood holder is what caught my eye.

I'd have nabbed that too. Wow. My find of the church sale was a NWT pajama top, J Peterman - knew it was good when the instructions say Machine wash warm. It's a guy shirt so the sleeves are long enough. For once.

    620 or 616 then, probably.

Ohhhh - it's not film. It's paper with cartoons on it. You put it in the projector then turn a crank so the pictures go past and it looks like the cartoons are moving on the screen.

Oho. Shouldn't be a surprise that the paper junkie knows it's paper. Also no surprise that it's not film, which would have cracked up with repeated use or bad storage. Or stuck together. Or worse.

Interesting! I can't tell if it's paint, or, just the wood itself.

I found this cool little Pueblo pot this morning. Clear influence of Maria here.

And this Motawi 6"x6" tile for $10. I'll make an oak frame out of scraps and it'll look nice.

    Ok, one more: wool blankets!

This first one is a Chief Joseph blanket. I found it new in its bag at a garage sale for $25, probably 15 years ago. It took a year or more to break it in--to go from scratchy to soft-- but since then it's a favorite:

This one has no tag, but may be a Pendleton too. Also $25 a couple years ago, also at a garage sale:

This wool blanket was in the (dry) garage at a recent estate sale. Somebody musta thought it was a moving blanket to wrap furniture. $4

And here's another Chief Joseph blanket, found today for $30. Somebody weirdly removed the edging (?). The tag, I've learned from our very own web site, indicates 1930-1972:

Wish I could deal with wool, but it and I don't mix well.
