Any vintage Louis Vuitton experts? 1970s Bucket Bag Real or Not?

I bought this bag at a sale... The owner claimed it was purchased in France around 1980. I want to believe her because she had many nice designer things that I know for a fact was real such as Cartier and Montblanc pieces. The bag definitely appears to be old and has A ton on patina throughout. There are some repairs that have bad stitching and I was told they were done by hand a long time ago, not professionally, most notably the inside zipper portion. I want to authenticate this but I don't know where to do that and hopefully you all can help! It will be a gift to my mother if it is indeed real and I will seek out repairs for it.

I think there are maybe a couple of red flags here, unless the sloppy repair is what is throwing me off.

I guess I'd ask myself why that inside section around the zipper needed a repair in the first place. It should have been fairly bomb proof.

Noé is the model. I see nothing about your bag that would lead me to believe it's genuine. (The quality of the stitching is a major concern, for instance.) And the presence of Cartier and Montblanc items at the same sale aren't reassuring; they're both widely counterfeited. Without going to the expense of authenticating, I suggest you post your query on the eBay Fashion Forum. There are some very knowledgable members there that can give you a definitive answer.

Expert here but definitely do whatever makes you comfortable re posting on other sites. Made in France LV never used nickel findings and the monogram Noe wasn’t designed as a handbag with a lining. It was designed as a champagne carrier and the “lining” in monogram is always the brown cotton backside of the canvas. Sorry. Hope you will destroy it so no one else gets ripped. Agree the stitching is terrible.

BTW she may have purchased it in France but no way did she purchase it from Vuitton.

Thank you, @reader, for the definitive answer. I second destruction. And shame on the seller for misrepresenting the handbag.

These estate and garage sale people make me nuts. They just don’t care who they rip. I see fake LV out there all the time priced in the hundreds. Legally the OP can force a return since it’s illegal to sell counterfeits but if they can afford to eat it, IMO it’s always best to either destroy them and take them out of circulation or use permanent heavy black markers and write counterfeit all over the interior. They can then be safely given to someone living on the street to use if they like.

That one is fake but will share that I’ve done lots of repairs on my own genuine duffles over the years. Stitches do break and rivets do pull out.

I do that but we have tons of homeless in my city. I personally have issues with contributing to landfills IF something can be of use to someone.

    not the path I'm on.....

    I agree with u about landfills.....but,,

here, if a homeless person stands out with any sort of valuable item.....they are ripe to be preyed upon.....
The time I gave away my scarves here......I thought to get them into the hands of folks living on the street and then did an about face , knowing that calling attention to oneself in the environment...is a recipe for trouble.....

Lately...the homeless have been set upon by kids....for much less !!!!

consider a homeless woman......able to get by living on the street..... not wanting to...but surviving....... showing up with a spiffy LV handbag .....how happy she'd be with it...... until a gang of 5 girls wandered by.....saw it......and had no intention of asking whether or not it was counterfeit ........... but summarily beat her up for it !!!

Absolutely horrific scenario but thankfully I’ve never heard of any issues and the last piece I gave was to a guy that was markered on the outside and he put his chihuahua in it.
