    Great work anund. Care to guess what is sold for?

    Interestingly enuf, his name does not show up on FindArtInfo when I enter the name. But when I look under the name Foster sure enuf he's there. Wow.

    He was an illustrator. May have been created for a magazine. Or perhaps it was an ad. Can you read the text on the box?

    I just can’t believe an auctioneer wouldn’t figure out who painted it before letting it hit the block.

    I was unfamiliar with him. But, according to the internet... He illustrated the cover of the very first L.L. Bean catalog.
