Trust me, in Victoria there is no dearth of tea cups. :D I suspect those ones are orphans (cups, no saucers) and/or damaged a bit. It's in a lovely part of town.

I have a few orphan cups and saucers myself. Always hoping to find it's counterpart but never happening.

The mismatched tea cups I usually ended up with were Shelley. Grrr! It took me awhile to train myself to look carefully at those to be sure the cup matched the saucer. I tried once to sell them separately, but it was mostly a "wait a year" thing before it sold, so I stopped.

We call those mismatched ones a marriage. Some patterns just have a slight difference in colours so it's easy to think they're matched. Happened to me a few times, too.

I recently sold two crown Staffordshire cups. Only £3.50 but I'd had them for years and they had firing cracks in each rim. Good riddance to them! Could I find them noooo. I think I must have given them to a charity shop a while ago.
