Picked her up today. She's 18" tall and weighs over 18 pounds. No markings. The gold overlay is almost gone. I don't believe this is very old, mid-century maybe? Apologize
for pic quality, not a strong suit. Thanks in advance.

I improved the image a bit, but it did not help the image search aspect.

You improved it more than a bit, thank you! Wife was telling me I didn't do her justice with my pics.

Hi Marote. Moreau does appear to be the closest. I've had other Bronze unidentified.
Personally, I'd want credit for my work.

Maybe the only credit this artist was interested in, was the credit added to his bank account :D

You'll notice on the Moreau, the lady has tiny toes. My wife says ours has, "finger toes." Komo, this one's for you!:happy:;)

Definitely gonna side with the wife here on late 19th c. Those square nuts are older. It was also when a lot of these neo-classical style (with that style of modeling of faces/bodies/etc) were made. I think signed ones were meant to be stand-alone artworks. Unsigned is probably more likely to be one of a pair for a mantel clock arrangement. You could customize them, say mounted on a large clock, or on various bases to sit to either side.

I think signed or unsigned, a beautiful bronze lady is a good find. I would have bought her too if the price was right.

Good reference on whether something is mercury gilded (and thus more mid-19th and later in date) or electroplated: video I wish it was in better focus, but I think you can still see the important bits.

Thank you for the info. There were three pieces at the estate sale. The other two
were Roman soldiers, and only 12" in height. A fellow addict stated those two came from a mantel clock. So, you're probably correct. That would have had to been a bodacious mantel clock with her by it's side.

Okay...here's how it works around here. My wife loves this piece (oh no, not her again!) So, she lists it at an extremely exorbitant BIN price, which means it will most likely be sitting on our mantel when I'm pushing up daisies. If by chance it sells, we feel sad and do a high five snoopy dance.

Hahaa I just save myself the trouble and keep the things that make me happy to see regularly. I reassess occasionally and THEN sell if I've got other things I'm enjoying more. :p

Sounds like your wife should get her own account here. We'll encourage her to keep more things! :playful:
