I bought this on a hunch but without any actual knowledge. This looks like it has some age to it in my eyes, black iridescent plastic beads on knotted cotton string. Its and astounding 75cm long. Very beat up, but interesting. I was hoping its flapper era perhaps, but it could be 40s, 60s, or modern for all I know.

It looks to have broken at some point and repaired by a metal shaft stuck straight into the bead next door.

    Would love your thoughts! TY

They look like they could be black aurora borealis beads, which would mean 1950s at the earliest.
But as you know, I am not a costume joolie, so let's wait for the others.;)

That was a thought in passing...but didn't know enough about AB to rule it out or not haha

I had very similar in the late sixties and early seventies.

Which was also a time of long necklaces. I had long bead necklaces as well, but not this type.

We’d wear multiple strings and knot the end to make a dangle.

The beads are molded onto the string. I've seen that repair before. They aren't considered desirable here, but they're easily wearable.
