Hi all. Picked this up mainly because its so pretty, and small! Its 3 1/2 inches high. Chinese ceramics are such a minefield I usually avoid them . Older ? Newer ? I am hopeless with Chinese signatures,so any ideas are greatly appreciated.

First character seems to be 苙 (Oro) or 茜 Akane middle character anyone's guess lower character is 造 (Zo - made). Interestingly when I saw it before seeing the mark I thought it looked more like a European attempt at Japanese styling. Given the vase type I suspect it does have some age, I doubt it would be post WW2.

Thats funny because when I googled it it kept showing European examples . Thank you for trying.

Is it glass or pottery? It has a very glassy look.

It does look awfully glassy. Classic “bottle vase” form. I’d think post wwii based on the fast unrefined decoration. Unless it was European made in the Asian style, then maybe pre war?

Its pottery but I too thought glass at first.
