Featured help in finding a print

hi folks

found a really nice signed artist print in a charity shop today that was priced quite high at £60

really nicely framed and looked a quality piece. Thought i better research it first but i cant find it anywhere, thought it would come straight up without even having the artists name

it was called woman in the fog, or lady in the fog signed by the artist limited print of either 130 or 150

it looked a bit like the cover to the exorcist film



darkly lit foggy street scene, with an indecernible lady, and had a gold type effect on it

i appreciate this is a very long shot, but you never know

will probably go back tomorrow anyway, but would be good to get a heads up first

Was it a photograph or a drawing/painting?

 

after searching alot of different keywords, i found it
but it looks nothing like this, its coloured, very gothic/dark and more arty looking than a photograph

yeah its much better than that image, couldnt even tell it was a photograph

 

next to the siedel was one of these, though im not sure how early the print

forget the siedel, ive definetly gotta go back tomorrow
was £50 but if its signed by ROBERT DOISNEAU ? its a no brainer

i know right mate, i think it was signed now as they were asking £50 for it

it had this weird bid red elaborate frame, that i think the lady said was broken

i was there late (near closing) and will be there before 10 tomorrow

got this feeling about it

might even ask for a deal for the 2

 

any idea about silver prints @moreotherstuff

 

Doisneau had a real sense of humor. He's been on these boards before.

Make a note of the dimensions at least. Doisneau is well known and available in reproduction.

I think if it's matted the same and pencil signed, you're likely okay, but I'm not familiar with his work.

i would think that it being signed, would put it above £50 regardless

ill just have to have a look around to see if theres fake pieces with fake signatures

 

im thinking the quality of the image will speak for itself, they seem to be a quite striking photo process

and in low print numbers
