blimey, no wonder theres shops popping up all over the place

 

tobacco prices have gone crazy over here recently

a small 30g pouch used to be about £6

about £20 now

 

It's been legal here in Michigan since 2018, much to my ex's delight. He was always a heavy user... and an unmotivated log who couldn't keep a job and relied on his mother and me to support him.
I tried it several times in the late 70s/early 80s and it just wasn't my bag (pun intended!) Nothing chill or relaxed about it, it always made me mildly anxious and I hated that feeling and couldn't wait for it to wear off. My kids tell me the stuff available now is better quality but I'm not even tempted.

EDIT: Only one of my three kids became a regular user. But after a couple years, they started vomiting regularly and ended up diagnosed with CHS (Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome). They stopped partaking and, thankfully, the near-daily random vomiting stopped. (They even restarted using, "just to check for sure", and the vomiting recurred so now they're off pot for good.) Their doctor told them that they're seeing CHS a lot more now that using pot has become legal/accepted/much more common.
(Just sharing this story to raise awareness. They were scoped, checked for ulcers, saw specialists, etc before a doctor diagnosed what the root of the problem actually was.)

 

better quality stuff will still induce anxious feelings, perhaps even more so

it depends on the strain. sativa strains can induce anxiety in some
indica strains less so

 

its a common myth that smoking will relax your mind, when in fact what it will do is only exaggerate your current state of mind
a girl i know was nervous to go to a job interview, so thought it was a good idea to have a smoke before hand.
when in fact it made her 10 times more nervous, so much so that she legged it

 

Odd... I've never been the nervous type and almost always feel on a pretty relaxed and steady keel. I've always supposed that was one reason why I wasn't ever attracted to regular drug use... I naturally feel pretty chill. LOL, I have a psychologist friend who once told me that I was the most stable person she knows!
Meanwhile, my ex and my pot-user adult child have both been diagnosed with anxiety and depression... and adult child also with OCD. I presumed pot use was a way for them to self-medicate... both had resisted traditional medical treatment because they "don't like to take medicines."

i can understand how it would work for depression, not anxiety though
