Featured Do you recognize the signature on this Bakelite bangle?

AJ, indeed, two people died in my town. One was a woman in her sixties who was taking a walk in one of our towns parks with her daughter. The child that died was taking part of 'speelpleinwerking' some sort of open air daycare.

 

Presumably the parents had to work away from home, but doesn't the speelpleinwerking have an indoor option? What if it rains or snows? Or if they receive a storm warning like now.

 

AJ yes they do have an indoor option, and I read they were just on their way indoor when the accident happened. It had something to do with 'code geel' 'code oranje': the warning code the city provides to their services, which was given too late

 

Our warning codes in Dutch Brabant changed from yellow to orange too. But even with yellow we were advised to stay inside because of heavy gusts.

It should have been code red, both in Belgium and the Netherlands, those gusts were the fiercest I have ever witnessed here. I saw my terrace chairs flying through the air after their ropes were torn by Ciarán.
Many trees still had most of the leaves, so more danger of falling trees.
All in all devastating for the victims and their loved ones.

 

We've had bomb cyclones hit here too. Staying outside during one is madness.
