    I am not sure how old an item must be to post and ask a question about. I see lots of things I would consider collectibles on the site, not exactly antique (100 Years old). is there a cutoff for the age of an item here? just want clarification before I post and item (say 50 years old). Thanks.

    You're correct, despite the name of the site, we do not confine participation to the antique. So bring on your questions. :)

    Good question. Definitely didn´t think about that when I posted my 1944 and 1967 art questions earlier today :bag:

    Hello @Marote & @Wheeble & welcome to the forum!! :happy::happy::happy:

    Like @Bronwen said above most members are willing to try to help with almost any item you with almost any item you might have questions about.

    For instance, the jewelry crew here deals with pieces from the 18th century, sometimes even earlier, right up to recent pieces. :smuggrin::smuggrin:

    You will likely find the knowledge that exists on this site is pretty amazing & the fact that it is shared very willingly is pretty cool. :D

    One thing to remember is that this is an international forum so members are here at different times & some are only here sporadically. so you may have to be patient at times.

    I can see why you ask as some other Antique discussion places can be really rude about posting collectibles outside their "limits". I like seeing the vintage stuff too, and I'm not going to complain if someone posts a modern thing unknowingly. Welcome!

    Some jewelry especially can fool people. Companies like J Crew have begun making "inspired-by" pieces, and companies like 1928 Jewelry Company have always done inspired-by pieces some of which are now vintage.

    I have helped more than one person at another venue who said they had jewelry "made in 1928".... :cyclops:
