Tiny pot

    Is there anything about this tiny pot that might indicate it origin or age? Is it tourist trade junk? I don't know anything about it, and I'm curious. It's just over 2 inches tall, and the opening is 1.5 inches. _CRO0275.JPG _CRO0276.JPG

    Looks like an example of 'inspired-by' Native Am pottery. It does not look authentically NA to me-- those incisions are atypical, as are the exact designs.

    What's on the bottom?

    Nevertheless, it may be helpful to see the bottom. It looks like it has a foot. Is that so? We are assuming it is ceramic/pottery. Is it?

    It may be Chorotega pottery, from Costa Rica. One of the styles they are known for is etched black pottery, usually from the town of Guaitil.

    Here is a photo of the bottom, and yes it is pottery.
