Same here. Of course, when I hit a local antique store I just try to hit break-even rather than make money. When I was still selling, I wanted to hit at least minimum wage before I'd touch something. The standard for online sellers is a sale price at least 3x what you paid. In my case I set a $20 floor sale price. No point otherwise.

I used to do smaller bits..

So, she's just starting out......... let her do smaller bits...

The research ..photo's....ect.....that's part of the job.....that's how one learns.....

you didn't start out with the stunning items you have now......you built up to it !

one has constraints....and needs smaller payouts to build up to bigger and better things..... no one starts at the top.

48 euro's....for 48 items.......... I'm no joullee......but I can see the value in those items..... NOW.......but maybe not so much 40 years ago..!

Stay in your budget.....the better you get...the more it will grow.;):joyful:

    Get a good magnifying glass.....metal testing .....a blacklight....ect

Organize you purchases...... keep paper records..... get small bins to hold your growing collection.....bigger ones as needed........keep everything in the same place....so in the future ....
u know what it is..where it is....where u got it , what you paid...!!;)

You will appreciate that one day.......actually.....many days !

Dont think too much about things you missed out, just focus on the future.
There will be more lots like this one and better coming your way.
I m now in the process of trying to get rid of the lesser stuff to be able to afford/keep good quality items.
I recently found out its not worth to sell anything online for less than 15€ though. At least to me.
The amount of time/work just doesn't add up for less.
It s a pitty I have mountains of 1/2€ stuff laying around here though
    Ahh well, I have time...
    And mountains of stuff :hilarious:

Difference for me is all the smaller bits were items from my childhood that were not things I paid money for... ;)

I've got the organisation down for sure! I've got a circular fishing tackle box and a box with customisable partitions for my personal collection. Each piece is tagged with a number which corresponds to an entry in my notebook describing the item and how much I paid.

For my sale items, I have another box in a drawer with all my tools, each item that goes up for sale is listed in a digital word document with a description and purchase price. When it sells I list the price, the shipping fee, and the total profits after costs. I also divide the number of items in a lot by the total purchase price + shipping to ascertain the individual price of items, so when I put them in lots I know exactly where my margins are.

Nice!! This is my kind of organization. I had a binder for sale inventory location for years (it was a lot of stuff...) but when I refocused on larger profit items I abandoned it in favor of grouping like items in same areas. I've always had the digital spreadsheet for tracking listings and net profits.

And digital spreadsheets with photos for my personal collections... Backed up in 3 places. :bookworm:

I'm the gal that spent lock-down cataloging my entire wardrobe with photos in an app. :bag: Upside is I can always use it to prove to a new boss that I'm very detailed oriented which is a big part of my job. :hilarious:

I have successfully organized jewelry how I want to organize the rest of my life, particularly work. It all just seems a little more complicated then jewels :hilarious:
