"Federal" Dresser -- walnut?

    Going off what google lens told me. When i picked up it was advertised as 'teak' but I'm thinking that's not right....what can ya'all give me?

    It is definitely not teak. The drawer fronts may be mahogany, though they do look false grain painted. Can we see a better picture? The case looks more like a fruitwood. A good straight on picture of the top would be helpful.

    The carcasse appears to be fruitwoood with a pine board backing; the drawers do indeed appear to be grain painted to resemble mahogany. Hard to guess the age, but I’m getting a mid 19th century vibe.

    I am really not sure on the wood for the top. Looks to be a large width single board. That would probably rule out most fruitwoods. I wonder if it might be something like tulip poplar?
