cast resin Statue

    The original sculpture was by Louis August Moreau. Yours appears to be a cast reproduction. There are many examples on the web.

    sorry should have put a pic of the bottom and more details that is defiantly his signature what is the material it would be cast with,thank you 2manybooks s-l1600.jpg

    From the photo of the bottom, it looks like cast resin.

    The bubbles give it away I bet, thank you again , did the brothers do cast resin you think ,I was reading up on them a little .

    You have a modern copy of a famous sculptor's piece of work. It's lovely as a decor item!

    None of the brothers Moreau did any resin casting. They didn't live long enough to see this way of copying, and they wouldn't have had the inclination to do it.

    A widely reproduced work in many mediums including, bronze, bisque, plaster and resin.

    That fact and those curved lines on the bottom are from a large disk sander - they would press the bottom of the resin statue to the sander to flatten it.
