Featured Woven basket, can you help with age, material and origin?

Hi everyone! I picked up this lidded basket at a thrift store yesterday and am keen to learn more about it. It appears to be well made-other than that I have very little knowledge about this kind of basket. What is it made from, where do you think it is from and does it have any age? I thought possibly Indigenous (I'm in Alberta, Canada) but really have no idea. I'm always learning! Thanks as always

 

Your basket looks quite contemporary in style, and not any indigenous tradition that I am familiar with. It may be an example of coiled ocoxal (pine needle) baskets from Mexico. The technique and materials look quite similar to this one -

Hi, thank you! The white bit at the front is thread, similar to the little square pieces at the back. Part of the geometric design I think.
