Saw this at the thrift today (they wanted $10 for it). There was a huge line & a visiting guest had to use the bathroom so I only had a sec to peek at it.It's 6"-8" high & is Pat 1923,L.A. Cal. Sorry I can't tell you more-may go back tomorrow if I have more time.
PS-I guess the hole near the base would be for a spigot of some type ? Would this have held ice,etc ?

Without iridescence and more than one color, would this be properly called carnival glass?

Looks like a water cooler/ drink dispenser. Not carnival - likely molded or pressed glass.

It appears to be missing its lid, though it's a bit hard to tell from the angle of the single photo provided.
With no spigot and no lid, it would be a pass for me.

I would agree with bluumz on passing unless of course it appeals to you and it's inexpensive. Maybe hunt around the store for the lid and spigot?

Search on Etsy using "glass water dispenser vintage" show a bunch from the $20's on up, but none very similar to yours

Find/make the time, put yer money down an' drag it home!
Hit it with UV, dig into the patent information...I believe (without a bit of factual support) you'll be pleasantly surprised!
