Featured Japonesque enamel box identification - LB mark

    Hi,

    Is any anyone able to identify the maker of this enamel box on bronze mounts with paw feet marked "LB?"

    Aesthetic/japonisme era perhaps. No idea who did it, but it's a good size and nicely done.

    Anyone able to guess on the maker per the "LB" monogram on the bottom of the paw feet, or could that be the retailer?

    Could be retailer or perhaps the company that makes the metal mounts.

    It wouldn't be the retailer as it would be dumb to impress the letters where they are for fear of damaging the object.

    When items like this are marked for retailers, the impressing would be done by the manufacturer before assembling the item.
