The long number on the right is the design registration number. That one was issued in 1903. That does not mean the date the mirror was made.

But the date letter C is the year made. ;)

A small correction to Bakersgma (just being pedantic here): the date letter tells us when it was assayed, not necessarily when it was made. And a further complication is that the date letter did not change on the 1st January. The Chester Assay Office changed the date letter on the 1st July (at least from 1889 onwards). Other assay offices used different starting dates. So, because the design registration number was issued in 1903 and the date letter runs until 30th June 1904, we can say that the mirror was made in either 1903 or 1904.

Thank you for dating the mirror I bought it as silver plated and later discovered the hallmarks, I can’t make out the first letter of the makers mark but second letter N. The date letter I dont recognise as a letter but Ive never had a hallmark with the registration numbers like that.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Looks like there might be something written/printed in that dark edge (image showing the marks), but I can't bring it out clearer, and it also might be nothing!!
