Hello everyone. Hope all is well. Needing your expert opinion regarding a pendant that my grandmother gave to me. There is a 14K stamp on it and a letter "L" followed by a "G" or "C" inside in a somewhat hexagonal, lozenge shape.

Thank you. View attachment 459528 View attachment 459529

Welcome sirocco, hope you are well too.
Am I right in thinking you are in the US? The 14k mark without assay marks etc is usually from the US.
And could we see the pendant please?:)

What size image did you try posting.....we do have limitations....and did you find the informational link that IS helpful in posting images??? In case you didn't, here's a brief tutorial below:

For Future reference, when posting images:

Each image MUST be UNDER 1 MB....
There are instructions on site here on how to reduce the size of your image, if that is the problem......you are allowed up to 10 images per post!!! Here are some links to the instructions:

Try emailing them to yourself as "medium" size, they should then be under 1 MB!

    If on the computer:

    If on an iPhone:

And if on an Android phone:
    https://www.antiquers.com/threads/using-an-android-phone-for-pics-on-antiquers.41709/

As an added note, when you have your photos LISTED, BUT BEFORE you hit POST, please click on the wording that says to "INSERT EVERY IMAGE AS FULL IMAGE" !! That way, we're not clicking on little thumbnails, but get to see all of the images full sized!! Thanks! Remember, it takes a bit for MOST new members to get the hang of it, but it's really quite simple once you get used to it!!!"

    And, WELCOME to ANTIQUERS, @sirocco88!!!:):)

A nice Modernist style cross, ca 1960s.
I think the mark is L.C., if that helps. I am not in the US, but I hope our US members can help you.

That said, a 14k gold Modernist cross is worth something regardless of the name. If you are looking to sell, you can search for similar cross pendants using those search terms.

Thank you for your response. Actually I am not planning to sell the pendant. I just want to know when and where it was made as my grandmother told me that she had the pendant even before she got married. She died at the age of 100 last 2019 and having knowledge how old this pendant will make it more valuable to me.

I am sorry for your loss. But 100, that is amazing. She must have seen so many changes in her life, and probably experienced them too.

Items like this are always so personal. She had it for at least 50 years, if only it could talk.

It's really hard to date these. Grandma could have had it for two years or fifty-two.

It sounds like you really treasure it and treasured your grandmother, and if she had it before she even was married, she had it for a good long time!!! So sorry for your loss. As @Any Jewelry said it looks like LC in the cartouche, but just above the 'C' in it, where I pointed with a RED arrow, it also looks like 3 letters, possibly LL and maybe a K have been scratched in.....for me it's too hard to definitely determine what the letters above are......unless they've already been determined!
