I did check the Elgin site before I posted...dates around mid-20s...was having trouble narrowing it down.

I am posting this in a separate thread in the antiques discussion forum. It is all elephant ivory; I researched, and the netsuke appears to have all Chinese symbols, and also appears to be one of the star deities, Shou. Lots of questions!

Bought a lot of 3 mesh purses on eboo, listed as "metal mesh".

Got them today and looking them over they seemed better than that. No marks, so I got out my acid and - yep - all 3 are silver

Yep! I had no idea! It was a BIN with best offer, I just offered what was low compared to asking but was the highest I could offer for plain metal mesh.

I am one happy camper :D

I posted about these bottles on @916Bulldogs123 Fostoria American thread about a week ago. The discussion had turned to rarer pieces of this pattern. I mentioned that the best piece I had ever sold was a perfume bottle that I bought on eBay (unID'd) & then sold the bottle on eBay correctly ID'd about 3 weeks later.:smuggrin:

The very next day I was perusing my saved searches & these bottles appeared. They were described well in the title & the photos were great but again there was no mention of maker or pattern.:oops::p

They were listed as a BIN/BO & I did think about it briefly but in the end, I just did the BIN as I can more than double my money by selling just 1 bottle. :smug::smug::smug:

Now I am trying to decide if I want to sell them individually or as a set.:happy:

Yes, $2.00 each. Everyone was passing them by.
Of course, I was the only one who flipped them over looking for a mark.
I have a habit of doing that with everything, though.

Yeah...it was a bit steep, but no tax! That's why I love St Vincent de Paul Thrift store.

Our St. Vinny's is seriously overpriced.

They've definitely gotten a bit more expensive, but the pricing is still much better than Goodwill.
There are several Goodwill in my area, and none carry jewelry anymore. So there's no draw for me anyway.

I think it all goes on line now just about everywhere. I saw jewelry in one Ill Will in July, but it was all new crap. Valueless and as usual way overpriced. My local Ill Will had a pair of USED jeans priced $11.99. Really?

Today however I found an estate sale that almost no one else seems to have found. There were two of us,we know each other, waiting to get in at 9AM. Spent almost $100, but I have to wait for daylight to get some pix of the score. I found a SOLID silver belt that weighs over 5 ounces on my mail scale. The melt covers about what I spent.
