Sewer tile pottery

    Saw this in the thrift store and it reminded me of the old sewer tile pottery. I don't think this is really an example of it but found it interesting. Certainly in the manner of... Any idea of what it really is? Appears to be cold-painted and lacquered. Very heavy and about 14" tall. I did not buy it, as it really doesn't appeal that much to me. Did I make a mistake?

    Quite rustic looking. Personally, I don't think you made a mistake for leaving it there.;)

    I'm in full agreement with that observation!
    Almost nothing so immediately distresses me as an object that feels 'unfinished' in the hand. The surface of that pitcher plainly tells me it would be, to a major extent, rough an' uncomfortable to hold...especially the handle! I do not understand, nor have any interest in, an object that offends the sense of touch.
