    Hi folks

had a good day charity shopping today, all items came from the same shop.
wasnt gonna bother going in today as i went in yesterday, but glad i did. bought about 6 items including a nice mcm italian planter, evrything came in under £20

my favourite is the large bird claw brooch(think silver though not marked)
and they screwed right up on the watch ;);)

the two other brooches are both marked silver

    any info or comments appreciated

I wonder if it was originally covered with fuzz/fur, a grouse foot.

Victorian. Grouse. Likely silver. Likely a kilt pin. And lots of similar floating around internet.

A bit short for a kilt pin, I think. I've never seen grouse foot kilt pins, only grouse foot brooches. Some sellers list them as kilt pins, but that doesn't mean they were intended as such.

The pin has a quatrefoil design. (Forgive me if you know the term already.)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quatrefoil

Used by Van Cleef and Arpels in their Alhambra line of jewelry and (among others) worn by:

I’m with aj, and my majority Scottish DNA. These were never kilt pins. The true kilt pin is the safety pin style.

yup, grouse. The victorians were mad for the macabre.

Good haul Charlie. The RAF brooch is a nice one with the enamel.

All lovely apart from the claw which is grotesque. Sorry but blurgh :depressed:
Does the hall mark on the watch clasp just apply to the clasp or the whole watch?
