Featured Thrift Find - Highwaymen H Baker painting + a Dali 'Omage to Omer'(?) A/P

Well I sold the Hezekiah Baker painting - $3,300; but sold locally so no eBay fees or possible damage in shipping (like what happened to my Keith Haring silkscreen Andy Mouse - I paid to have UPS fragile pack it and ship it (and it arrived with 1 corner crushed & taped closed, so it happened in transit) but I am still waiting on that refund!)

 

I bought a few larger bronzes from a lady in one of the Carolinas. She paid to have them professionally packed and shipped. I had a bird wing poking through the side of the box when I got them. The very loose, large bubbled bubble wrap had slid off them and they had lots of room to tumble around in the box. A spot of patina right on a head was rubbed off. It was a disgraceful packing job. She packed my second order herself and it was far better. I can’t believe the audacity of the place to have charged her in the first place. I’ve had people want to buy large heavy objects from me that were advertised pickup as pickup only. They asked if I’d drop it at a shipper for them. I won’t, I don’t trust them at all.
