I spent a grand total of 10 euros on jewelry yesterday, and all of it is silver. Not sure why its all coming out of the woodwork at the moment, but I aint complainin!

This lil guy was 50 cents, not sure if he's missing eyes or not, but he's marked 925 and a maker. Owls are one of my favorite birds so I couldn't pass him up.

The sterling necklace and the pendant that came with it. I love her so shame she's not silver either, but I like the eras she's inspired by! The chain is longgg.

This was tarnished to heck, but I still spotted the half stamped 925 on the inside. Its looking pretty nice now, though the beads are actually beads (they have holes lol), and plastic.

This one looks older, its got the boars head for 800 silver, which I believe was in use until 1962. What era we talking here?

I forgot to take a photo of the front of the cat brooch, but here's the mark on the back. Anyone recognize this by any chance?

Lastly, these rather nice sterling earrings. These are going straight into my personal collection.
There's 3 marks on each of them, all of which are confusing in one way or another. What stone is this? Glass? When I Lensed them it came up with garnet, but don't look hard enough to be a stone like that. Maybe amber? IMG_20230925_185243.jpg
    IMG_20230925_185056.jpg IMG_20230925_185127.jpg

The left mark says 925 with what looks to be a 'G' on top of that. On the right side of that same mark it looks like weird K or lopsided butterfly shape. The right mark says either 11 or LL whichever way you look at it. The next photo shows the mark thats on both of them, at the bottom. Both almost impossible to decipher, at one point it looked like M or W, but I can't see it now. On one earring its stamped twice. No idea lol.

Earrings look carnelian. I’ve got that owl ring. Bangle looks deco and very nice.
While we’re talking silver, can someone please tell me where the hell the earring I bought on Saturday has vanished to!

Ooo I like the sound of Deco! Its a sweet thing, I don't like the feel of solid bracelets but this one's small enough that I might try it out.

Oh dear, I do hope you find it! Annoying when its a newly purchased escapee.

Oh goodness, do you think its not plastic? They don't have a very smooth feel, and don't clink when tapped, though I'll double check that tomorrow.

I did forget to mention, the twisty ring bracelet is unmarked, its only signed OR. I bought it on a hunch, got it home and tried to figure out what on earth was I thinking (it has a rough sort of feel in the hand, and the (other side of the clasp, the thing it hooks onto whats that called??) thingy isn't silver at all. Buttt I tested it anyway and boom silver! :woot:

I don't think 'or' means gold in this instance, there's no sign of plating. Wonder who made the thingy! Or perhaps that ring doesn't belong to it at all.

Agreed that bracelet looks Deco. Stones could be glass. I like the style of that chain. The cameo is sweet, even if not silver.

Agreed! I might take her out for a spin over a turtleneck this winter. That's what I've been gravitating to: Simple chain, but big, geometric, or wacky pendants over solid colored turtlenecks.

I understand! I have a lot of fun tops with graphics or patterns, but I had to start getting some solid, classic things just so the jewelry would be center stage now that I can have nice things!

The earring has been located, praise be, a Hong Kong necklace was way too friendly with it.

She is truly lovely. I'd use liquid silver plater on that. You rub it on the spot like you would silver polish, repeat a few times until her hair looks silver again. I use "Holland Hallmark Silver Plater".

The inlaid brass earrings are from Nepal or neighbouring regions.

The lapis bead sterling bracelet could have been made in Turkey, they copy other ethnic jewellery styles.
Is it cold or warm to the touch? And are you ready to become addicted to UV light?:vamp::joyful:

Thank you very much for the tip! I'll look into it.

oh goodness is it lapis?? I wasn't too gentle when cleaning because I thought they were plastic.... I did make sure there wasn't any moisture at least!

Oh nooooo not the UV :hilarious::hilarious: I've been considering getting one but I don't get enough stone stuff to warrant it. I'll check its temp next time I'm upstairs! :nurse:
