Hi All, went to a sale this morning and bought a plastic container of jewelry for $10.00. The lid was taped shut but I could see part of the sterling brooch so took a gamble and bought it. Below is what I kept, the rest was junk. The 2 bracelets are magnetic - I don't think very old, the silver ingot pendant is marked 1977 London
Several pieces I need help with
    any information appreciated
    thanks for looking:)

    # 1 gold colour watch or chatelaine with slider? I see them called both so not sure which is correct - maybe both? Only marks are W. & BS on the hook part, found one other and they said USA company but not able to verify. The slider part has 1901 engraved on one side, then the other side has seed pearls and ? not sure what that is. Also, they are set in what looks like a bear paw design to me - point/claws off the top of the pearls - or maybe I'm seeing things. Is there is name for this design of chain?

#2 is a magnetic bracelet (not cleaned yet) with green glass bits on the front that react under a blacklight. Marked Aidmens on the back - to me it looks like beach glass but not sure - any ideas? Imports - 1 of 3 (1).jpeg

#3 flower (lillies I believe) edited - mystery solved thanks to @Bakersgma - it is the Watson Co Mark from Atteboro Mass, USA. I thought it was a British mark

Looks like an opal that's on the piece with the seed pearls.

That’s a silver jubilee pendant ingot, we all had them. Agreed on Opal, and the water lilies are delightful.

Both.;) Chatelaine chains came to be used as watch chains and when they have a slide, they are slide chains. In this case the slide is the lovely opal and pearls thingy, typical of the period.
    :hilarious:
Definitely drunk. I regularly see signs of a severe drinking problem on google. I've been wondering who to contact for an intervention.

No idea, but that opal is pretty nice. Somebody was asleep at the switch letting that for for $10.

Both those bracelets are very modern. Those little round discs on the back are supposed to be magnets for magnetic therapy. Those stones are probably some sort of poured resin or plastic.

File under Whatsahoosie and whatchamacallit. Whoosiedingie too, although that one's mostly used in conversation.

Closet Dutch.;) The Dutch word is "dinges" or "dingetje".

Might be; it's an older word that might have come over with New York Dutch immigrants. :cat:
