Any idea who dunnit? Neat thing, petwery type metal with no marks. Got in to an estate a few days before the sale today. Had very limited time and it was stuffed and dark. Rather than spend my time rummaging through the jewelry I just asked what the price would be for all of it. I didn’t see anything great or gold but the price seemed worth the risk so I took it all and I’ll see that comes out in the wash. This was in the first little pile I brought in. It’s pretty funky! As I was piling up all the drawers (type set type drawers) it was presented in the lady picked up one bracelet and commented on how she liked it and put it up to her wrist. I gave it to her because she was so nice and worked with me very kindly. She claimed to not know what Bakelite was but I swear the one she chose was a hinged carved Bakelite cuff. Could have been the winner of the bunch. Maybe she just has good taste. It looked good on her though and I was happy to make her happy. 4414C9F0-A87D-43FF-9FAE-2D802F3604D9.jpeg 10E4A024-61DA-4AF3-9284-2699A747DA05.jpeg apologies for bad lighting.

The mask looks kind of African. The rest of it looks Picasso esque. Since he was influenced by African art I wondered if it was kind of a take on that.

I think masks/faces in different styles, the one on the right looks Maya to me.

I think 1950s and you should do more research. It has a vibe like it might be very worthwhile

I’m kind of at a loss. I’ve done a basic search. If the gals here don’t know, I don’t know who would or how I’d go further in research. The collection was mostly all 30’s-60’s purchased in period by the original owner. Very modest means, fashionable for the time probably but mostly middle or lower end. There was a pair of Chanel earrings though and I’m hoping they cover the cost of the lot. There is some pretty nice looking brutalist pieces that aren’t signed too. If you have any tips on how to dig further into researching this I’d be all ears.

There were some famous artists designing this type of tribal inspired jewelry in the 50s and this just looks to me like that. Marie hasn't chimed in yet and she may have some idea.

2EC7A015-6339-4399-A096-CCAA6C13E977.jpeg Here are some of the cool unsigned/unmarked things. Some of them brutalisty, some not. The sharks teeth type earring and earring lower right are really neat. Clear plastic necklace I’m sure is nothing special just has a cool look. The colorful bracelet reminds of a Makenzie Child’s theme but I don’t know if they did stuff like this and it looks like that company started in 83’ I think it said which would make this pretty new to be in this collection. Unless it belonged to the daughter that is. I went back to the house last night for round two. After the sale for a clean out type visit this time and spent about an hour chatting with the daughter. Oddly enough the one thing I forgot to grab before leaving the first time on my pre-sale visit was still there. I’ve been thinking about it since then and was happy to find it where I left it. Tis the portrait plate pictured. 0EB2EF8C-2558-4513-9773-7C7C46D6362E.jpeg 08300940-33F6-443B-99ED-B2FA137477AB.jpeg 89767249-0E28-4C2B-87CC-04E0FECD7B76.jpeg DC1975D9-AFB1-44FD-B94D-B5FB597BDA8F.jpeg 7C3ED492-3798-4941-8812-0E9461711126.jpeg 6D7E16A9-F649-4E84-B4F5-C3ABEBDD58C5.jpeg

TY for the tag AJ. No idea on origin but agree it’s a collection of primitive masks/faces. I see African (Bantu? Ashanti?)Mesoamerican, Greek/Roman, one looks maybe Egyptian 18th dynasty Akhenaten…cool piece. I’d guess 60s/70s…

Yes, I see a number of inspirations too. One looks (very) loosely based on the Mask of Agamemnon.

That bracelet is Random Artisan polymer clay. Just as well - Mackenzie-Childs makes me run for the Exit. The goldtone one however is either a 1920s Czech brass and glass or a later copy of same.

You have one pair of metal earrings that could have been inspired by a pair I have. Mine are actual shark teeth. :D
