Gorgeous Pastel...Has Anyone Here Ever Heard of This Artist?

Hello and thanks for looking at my post! I am so grateful to have found this board! I purchased this stunning original pastel in the gorgeous ornate frame from the Goodwill on half off day for just $12.50! Amazing, right? Anyway, I have searched the Net hi and low and cannot seem to find ANY info on the signed artist. A.M FOX. Anyone ever hear of this artist? Anyone have any ideas on what the value may be on this piece? Thank you so much in advance...any info greatly appreciated!

Nice pastel in a very nice frame. Probably circa 1925. As a shot in the dark, I find an Adeline M. Fox born about 1870 that could be your artist. I was not able to find any examples of her work. Fox is such a common name that I would not be too quick to attribute this to her without more information/research.

Probably doesn't matter much who this is by. Most pastels sell fairly reasonably with a bit more following for those signed Chandler. Otherwise, one needs to evaluate based on the quality of the art, size, and framing. I think yours compares nicely to some of the best from the period.
