Featured Bentwood & Leather box Info Needed...PLEASE :)

    I have no idea what this is. Reminds me of Shaker bentwood boxes. Measures about 5 inches tall and 5.5 inches at the base. The lid and bottom have a very soft leather covering. As you can see, there is a top and bottom lid with two center sections having different types of metal screens. Thanks for any info you can share.

    Different sizes on the screens could mean it's some sort of sifting apparatus?

    Since the other seems to be a grain measure, perhaps these are sieves for grain?

    I'm with the others, some kind of sieve or sifting system.
    Are the holes in one screen a different size from the other?

    The leather as you mention it, looks like parchment or vellum. It is mostly sheep-or calf skin and it untanned (unlike normal leather).

    I agree, I think it is a flour sifter.
