Seconded. The shade had a very different base originally. I'm seeing a chimney under the shade and a base that matches it.

found some Sherman jewelry in a mixed lot:) One pair of earrings has nail polish on the back, the FB repair/restore group suggested 100% acetone to remove it, hope it works:)
also found a Firestone tire ashtray, haven't seen one of these for years

Blinkin' Sherman. I haven't seen any in 10 years. I've never looked for a Firestone ashtray, but there's a buyer out there for it. The Sherman pieces might end up in a Hoarde if one of us found them.

FINALLY got to an estate sale today. Humid and hot and nasty later, but just seriously humid when I was out. Spent too much but found a bit. One of the prizes was a 14 inch Turkish wedding mirror; they're all done in repousse silver. Haven't found the hallmark yet, but didn't need one. Another was a brass menorah made to burn olive oil. Oops. The horsie is celluloid. The amber-looking beads actually are. (how'd that happen?) The Italian millefiori beads are Murano. One bangle has a Native American mark on it - Ben J Chavez I think. One ring is a flip ring - amber and larimar. Probably Dominican, but they never mark anything. The pins are all sterling except the horse.

The prize might be the menorah. It's out in my trunk. but if polished up would look just like this one. Dunno about that price tag, but I wouldn't mind!

I still haven't photographed my jewelry...I was putting things away and I photographed some silverplate. I haven't looked up the patterns yet. This set was $10, kicking myself for missing it on half-price day.

    These were 25 cents each

My Kings pattern pasta server, $1.

And...for the first time in my life, I found sterling flatware. A dollar each, spoon on the right is only silverplate, 25 cents.

One reason I haven't gotten out the fine-toothed comb. I found a smaller one several times before.

Yup. So it said. I just didn't type it out. The metal feels hollow.

found another estate sale this morning. One old map is headed straight to a friend. Left a few pieces out in the trunk, and I haven't even really looked at the jewelry yet. They had a TON of stuff; I was picking and eagerly encouraging others to "buy it all". :D:D:D:D They wanted it gone.

I adore this. As some here know, my other addiction is evening bags. This was waved under my nose by a seller who knows me FAR too well.

How could I not buy it!

The wee thing that looks like a pen is actually a tiny brush.
