Bakelite? Found this digging in my garden

It's about 4" long, two prongs, a ball wrapped in wire, a tiny spring on the metal piece with what looks like a bakelite top.. any thoughts on what this is are appreciated!

 

I would say some kind of Curtain Pull. The spring sticking out kept the shape of the thin brass stamping.

I don't think the top part is Bakelite. Curtain pull is a good suggestion.

 

That looks like a piece of a garden ornament or part of a wind chime. I've seen those wrapped marbles in other styles of garden ornaments and stakes.

 

I think that might be it, thanks! And being that I found it in the garden it was probably from the previous owner..
