Gilt Tole Candle Sconce Metal Roses And Buds

I can find some leads on this, but nothing that puts me where I want to be. It is very large at 39" wide and 27" tall and weights a little under ten pounds. At first I thought it was rusted, and there are some signs of age, but I believe most of the aged look were intended at the time of making. It looks like everything was done by hand as all of the leaves, roses and buds are different and all pieces are welded on. The larger branches are hollow. I haven't been able to find similar in this size and some of the smaller ones are stated to be either French or Italian. There are 8 candle holders on the piece. Thanks in advance for any help or ideas.

That's quite a spectacular example of its type. These were typically Italian.

Yes, I mostly come across Italian. It's hard to give an impression of scale so I thought the keys helped. I would like to put it up on a wall just for kicks, but it really fits nowhere in the house and I can't imagine the anchors I would need. I wish there were some sort of mark or indication of the origin, but I've looked closely and found nothing.

 

I had one like this,same size, that had little pink flowers instead of roses. It never fit anywhere ! I gave it to my niece. I always thought it Italian as well.

I like the idea, but it's not plausible in my case. It's gaudy and has an odd beauty at the same time. I'm sure someone would have a perfect heart and perfect place for it so I think I will put it out there to find that person. The cost to ship will probably challenge the cost to ship, but as they say, love is blind.

 

I've searched several times but I am going to try to get it into someplace with more light. I found several online with large metal tags that looked to be loosely wired on so maybe my eyes were looking for larger rather small. Thanks everyone.
