Small brass dish

    I picked this up the other day for a quid. Looks like it has some age. I think it is more than likely South Asian as is a lot of brass ware. It is about 10cm in diameter. Does anyone understand the meaning/origin of the engraving on it?

    Ditto.
    The border looks Indonesian, with that triangular motif, but the rest doesn't, so S. Asia is my bet too.
    Looks like it could be inspired by a town or regional crest.
    Floral designs in that region are often based on the sacred lotus, even if they look nothing like it.;)

    Yes it does look like a crest. I guess there are many thousands to search through

    There are. It could also be inspired by the shape of a crest, for decorative purposes, but not based on an actual crest.
