Hello from Idaho

Hello All,
I have always had a love of antique furniture. I remember when I was 10 years old, asking my grandmother if I could have her oak secretary to put in my bedroom. She said, "someday, but not today."
Over the years I have purchased several pieces, and have enjoyed every ding and scratch while imagining the history behind it.
I joined this forum because a few years ago I purchased a table that I cannot determine the age and origin. I thought many of you may have more insight and experience to be able to help me. I will post a picture on the furniture forum.

They lived in Nezperce until eventually they moved for job reasons. Not a very big place but I still have relatives in the area.

Cool! I used to live on the ridge between Kamiah and Lolo crick. You're right, not a big place and not a lot of jobs there.

 

Welcome Dawn. I'm in that general geographic area too.

 

Ooo so close! I know those names but not anything about them.

My folks had a farm outside Nezperce that has always been farmed by relatives. I inherited a bit of it with my siblings so even though I'm on the east coast, a little bit of my heart is there.

 

Kamiah is a beautiful area. Is it a crick or a creek? Sorry to tease. When my husband was in the Navy, people always gave me grief for calling it a crick…Idaho dialect….like jockey box instead of glove box/compartment.
