Potties,help on this figurine ?

    So this caught my eye as I wandered by.First glance I thought art student,but then I saw the face. And the dog. Something about it said maybe better than student ? Unsigned however. its 5 1/2 high,about 3 wide. Talented amateur perhaps ? Any input is always appreciated.
