Found these 2 pieces today at a thrift store I go to every day - the first I'm pretty sure is by Shirley Gruber; but the last one I posted the consensus was it wasn't by her - so hoping 2nd time is the charm! (especially since it has a small tear that I think I did bringing it home! Is it worth keeping/repairing?)

The 2nd one is unusual - it has a hinge in the middle (it was folded & leaning against a wall when I first saw it) but folds opened up/
I wasn't sure what it was but my friend who is the manager of the shop said it looked Brutalist to him?
No signature found on it by either of us.
    What do I have?

Thank you - as always! - for any help.

On the folding one, are the two sides the same size? When folded together, do the edges line up?

No one side is a inch or 2 longer! What does that mean?

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

@journeymagazine, take a close look in the 2 areas of the piece (or pieces?) that I've put RED rectangles around.......the horizontal rectangle has (to ME) what looks like some faint lettering in it......but the other vertical RED rectangle could be part of the design, or a signature tucked in there........

There's a kind of hinged painting, called a diptych if it has two panels, and a triptych if it has three panels, and they're displayed by opening them up and setting them on their sides. If yours is one of those, it would be displayed horizontally, not vertically.

(The paintings were originally made that way so they would be protected while traveling, as they were often religious and used for religious instruction.)
