Greetings. Has anyone seen this in the wild? Doesn't have claw feet. Ashtray? Silent Butler age? Gone with the wind prop Steffield? Asking the experts.

 

It may be a collector into which ash trays are emptied

In reply to my post of an reputable online source identifying the maker's mark and years the company was in business you asked what year "the photo" was found. Did you look at the link?

 

The item was probably made sometime between 1908 and 1935, the years between the founding of the maker and the year in which the firm was acquired by Farber Brothers. If that was what you wanted to know.
