Any idea what to call this? First a bit of history, friends helping a neighbor who is going into a retirement home and this was in her mother's high school scrapbook and no one wanted the book (completely falling apart) so they dropped it at my house and I can do anything I want with it. I'm going to sell the whole thing as a unit, but just wanted to check on a few items like this one. The scrapbook positively dates from 1927-1930. Sometimes old beer items can have value so want to check. What looks like ribbons is actually cardboard, too. It seems like maybe it would have been displayed on something. It's 8" tall, 6" across. Do you think an old store display? I google image searched it but didn't get a match. I googled the exact wording and nothing. Got to think this might be kind of a rare older item as most were probably pitched. Wondering if the bottom part is a clue as to what it once was as it seems like it might have attached to something. What do I call this?

It's a bottle topper. Designed to fit over the neck of a beer bottle and turn it into an instant display. (Here's a vintage root beer one for comparison.)

    Helpful. Thanks.

So far haven't found another beer bottle topper, but I've only been looking for a few minutes. I did find another intriguing soda one.

There are some days I could use some supercharged help! Wonder what was in this soda?! (From an Ebay auction.)

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I found a blog post (http://americanattic.blogspot.com/2009/07/cheer-up-soft-drink.html) that shows a blurry photo of the ingredients of this one. Also says it is for "hospital, home, and general use."

It included Lithia -- which I think was a version of this:

And may have additives related to this, if not the original lithia water!

Very helpful. Thanks, TallCakes. I looked all around and couldn't find a match! You are wonderful!

I might ask one of our WP members to see what it sold for. Clearly mine is worse for the wear (AND glued to paper), so would have to be worth enough to make a damaged one interesting. Great to have this comparison.

Interesting! I lived for 8 months in Ashland, Oregon about 30 years ago. I remember they advertised natural lithium in their downtown spring... never "Cheered me up" noticeably, but I had a friend who was taking Lithium so I know it can be used as a mood stabilizer.

Great info, everyone. Thank you! :)
