Japanese Bronze?

    Hello, does anyone know what this mark means and is this bronze?

    It's a bowl with koi on the rim. Has it been polished?

    Asian bronze is not the same alloy as 'our' bronze. It could be cast brass though.
    Telescope goldfish, with protruding eyes and fan tails. Koi are a carp species, with normal eyes.

    With the fantail gold fish, I'd be inclined to say it is more likely Chinese, not Japanese. These fish are very popular in China, but not Japan, where Koi are greatly revered.
