Featured help! Windsor seat & legs w/ a marquetry splat?

I know so little about antique furniture my surrender seems almost contrived but I am at an impasse. I have spent hours reading up on leg designs, stretchers, period influences and the Pennsylvanian Dutch trying to narrow down a style for this chair and I feel no closer now than when I started. I'm beginning to feel like I found a platypus and that just doesn't square with Occam.

Please help me see the error(s) in my deductions

ps: I've also been away from the forum for a while so if I have forgotten the right way to post these pictures please feel free to remind me.

 

Think this is an Edwardian mish-mash.

 

The final pic looks like a California Driver's License number from the 1950's...Maybe?

 

I was thinking potentially even later, based on the legs, but I'll go with Brad on this one.

Do you think the padded seat is original?

Doubtful, but it doesn't make the chair any worse. May make it hurt less to sit on, and someone did it properly.
