Large Chinese cloisonne vase

Wasn't going to bother with the car boot this morning as weather forecast was very changeable. Scraped myself out of bed at 6am though. I just can't help myself.

It was worth turning up for this. A steal at £2. It stands at 32cm tall and is in near perfect condition. Mid 20th century maybe? I just love the colours on it and it is going in my collection on the cloisonne shelf.

 

What a great way to brighten your day! While researching a cloisonne vase i had and sold , which had a studio mark, they said the older cloisonne had very tight design and newer less . Mine had the cloud design and it was easy to compare to newer cloud designs. I have not seen others with this X design so don't have anything to compare it to.

 

Old or new. Doesn't matter. That's lovely. What a bahgin (as they say somewhere.)

The UK may not have the huge jaw-dropping landscapes we do out West-but those damn Boots have lots of cheap scenic grandeur !

 

I have seen at least one example of the cross pattern online in the past but cant seem to find one now. I have tried to search for a reference to it but if I google 'cloisonne cross' I get exactly that; cloisonne crosses. The condition of it leads me to believe that it is quite recent but maybe it has just been looked after.

 

Regardless it is a beautiful vase and in time will be a beautiful antique!
