I did the acct confirmation and while I was miffed about it, it was easier than I thought and did not disclose any info as I used the manual choice.
But the place is a landmine now and it seems it is in self destruct mode.

As for me, I am taking an extended break from selling online. I may sell some stuff in the fall and into early winter on etsy, but things there need to calm down.

A seller there, took time off for maternity leave. She just came back, made a sale and they are holding 75% of her money. She is a stellar seller. She closed her shop when they did that.

Nope, I have no intention on jumping through hoops to avoid a non-compliance strike dictated by a system completely devoid of common sense.

To make things worse, all it would take is for a single person to be “offended” by your listing (for any reason… just report as offensive) and your listing instantly evaporates and you get a strike.

so in this increasingly ridiculous world where everyone is OFFENDED about something… and a company based in California, utilizing AI instead of actual humans… I was destined to end up with a permanent ban.

the same thing happened to me on Mercari, for selling a similarly OFFENSIVE item, which caused a temporary suspension… until I finally spoke to a person argued my case and had the customer service person unable to defend their decision. Well, that’s when I got banned permanently. Apparently a US WWII uniform is OFFENSIVE “hate speech related” and inconsiderate to anyone who had a family member who perished as a member of the Axis powers. No, I’m not kidding.

I am just wondering how they will misconstrue a cookbook and make it not ok to list.
From watching Breaking Bad, I learned that some drugs like Meth are cooked.
Oh well, I can just see it now, no cook books there.

Generally the highest-priced most drooled over modern Militaria ( not talking ancient Greek,Civil War,etc),is sadly-Nazi stuff, the gaudier 'death's head' items are particularly fetishized. It is what it is.

Correct, and because of that, the market is saturated with fakes, much like Confederate items.

I think I may be the only one here who never touched any drugs except my migraine medicine. I hear lingo that I never heard before and have to look it up to see what it means.

Needs dictate ! I remember back then if you saw someone with a super long pinky nail thats who you'd ask about procuring some. It may have been "bad" behavior, but Lord above I had some fun !

Me neither. Nothing. Fortunately, I don't suffer from migraine like my Mom did, she used to take sedatives throughout her life.

But I cannot compare, I guess, due to the specifics of the society I grew up in. Very different form yours.

On top of everything, English is not my mother tongue, so this is not the only discussion I have to look up words and phrases :joyful:

I’m so glad I didn’t get into selling on Etsy it sounds like a complete mess. I stick with eBay but they are getting so greedy.

KSW Etsy was a dream come true after I left ebay.
Now ebay sounds like the promised land compared to etsy.
