    Hi,

I am looking to ID the pattern name and number of this piece of Syracuse china. The bottom is stamped only Syracuse -- China 101-F U.S.A. There are no other marks. I am looking for dinner plates in this pattern and the name and number will save a lot of time.
    Thank you.

Thank you. My mistake here...I should have added that I have already exhausted those options including that site, and viewing about 17,000 pics of Syracuse patterns at the Ebay Syracuse China listing.

According to THIS, 101-F is a date code for June 1972.

I didn't see your pattern in their Syracuse list but I doubt that it's exhaustive. I'd try sending them an email inquiry.

And in future, please do mention in your initial post what/where you've already done/searched so members here don't take the time to look where you've already looked and tell you things you already know. :)

Cool, thank you! That's the animal alright, but mine is missing the 197 2 on the bottom. Since searching the wording on Worthpoint has turned up nothing, I wonder if "Green Gingham" is the company's actual pattern name. Likewise with the number 197 2 which is very different from other Syracuse pattern numbering I have seen. Also, In all my searching this pattern never came up, so I wonder if this pattern is exceedingly rare because it never sold very well.

1972 is the year of production, not a pattern number. And since the pattern looks nothing like gingham to my eye, I agree that the seller may have made the name up.

Rare is a term used for lightly cooked meat.;)

Just cuz you can't find it in your searches does not mean it's valuable , in demand , or any other thing.

It only means you haven't yet found it.....likely because it's not that old and few have uploaded images to the Web !:)

The internet has a ton of things ....but there's a million more tons out there , not found on the web..:hungry::hungry::hungry:

You will notice the numbers 197 2 are not on that worthpoint platter. The seller made a typo leaving a space in the year.

In many cases, "rare" is a bad thing... especially in dinnerware, tea sets, etc. It means if you break a piece, it's unlikely you'll ever be able to replace it. In such cases, "rare" can often bring down the value of an item.

I don't know if you've tried this site for Restaurant Ware Collectors but it's worth a try. Tons to look at and they've updated their site since the last time I looked and it seems streamlined.

The say they don't do Id's ect at that site but suggest visiting their Facebook page for help.

Ah, I didn't click your links just trusted what you said;). Great site but looks so different than it used to. Glad it didn't disappear like so many other good sites!
