    hi folks

    something i found in a charity shop today ( 15" by 10)
havent taken it out of the frame cause it looks original enough to me
only name i could find was the escapologist
who appears once to have nearly killed himself by setting himself on fire
theres no year date on it
    odd title
not sure what the hole punches and string are about, looks like its been framed to retain that aspect

sounds like heck of a show

    any info or comments appreciated

Can't be too old with a five digit telephone number. Internet says roughly 1963 to 1972 in Leeds. I imagine sign meant to be hung in window. Called a "hanging showcard," again courtesy of the internet.

The fonts are consistent with a later date.

According to this, Candy Kane was born in '61 (maybe '65). I think that would move the card to the '80s.

I suspect that down through history there has been more than one stripper named Candy Kane.

Nice find Charlie.I do like the 'Glamorama' featuring 'The Gaytones'-like something out of a Phil Dick/Vonnegut novel-surreal.
Looks like Leeds was a frisky town way before The Who cut their live album !

I’ve a lot of show cards and posters, I collect the ones with family members on.
This looks right for early sixties in terms of colour and layout. Don’t forget these were done cheaply with no real artwork involved. The printer - and that was my fathers trade - did a basic set up on inked flat beds.

Objective would have been cheap and quick.
