Does anyone recognize this Picasso work? I can't seem to find this one in order to title it? Did a google search and nothing came up. Sight measures 8 x 11.5 inches.
    Thank you for looking!

When I did an image search, the only thing that came up is your photos. What made you think it was a lithograph?

I am not sure why. Could it be a linocut?

I can't help but think that with 750 copies, you ought to be able to find it online.

I doubt anything was done in his lifetime with an edition of 750. Also the numbering does not look European.

You would think but I have been through thousands of images on online and nothing. I just joined a Picasso group so perhaps I will get an answer. I'll update if I do. As far as the edition notation, I have seen some weird edition numbers but it could easily be a print with a fake edition.

I can't help with finding another example, but the print appears to depict a potter, with the jar at the right perhaps inspired by Mangbetu pottery:

I just don't think this is Picasso.

    Waiting to be proven wrong.

Not odd. After death…I have one too-different image. It is signed but signed in the plate.

I can’t prove anything but I think it’s an after death relatively limited edition Picasso print.

Could be but IMO if someone were faking an edition number they wouldn’t pick such a large edition where in theory it should be easily found and is obviously a more commercial edition.

Most print collectors and dealers would argue that 750 is far from being a limited edition.

As would I but we both know that technically it is a limited edition. Again, another point for it being an authorized after death print as no one would fake an edition that large.

On the other hand, my Koons plate was an edition of 2200. I bought it for $495 less a 10% members discount back in the day. It consistently performs at auction…usually between $6000-$8000 but has hit $15,000…so NO I don’t usually buy high edition multiples but glad I own this one…

Absolutely true. I only posted that although I agree that it’s usually best to avoid commercial high edition multiples there are exceptions but those limited exceptions apply to editions signed and numbered by the artist.

Or authorized during their lifetimes rather than shameful estate editions.

Absolutely agree. The only reason I have an after death Picasso numbered print in the house is that it was a gift from a friend who’s gone.
