Featured Two old pottery pieces. Pre-columbian, NA, or repro?

Purchased these at auction as pre columbian. Was really just taking a total gamble. One seemingly has initials carved into the bottom. NO CLUE what’s going on there. Not sure if they are as claimed and someone did that later for some odd reason. That one could be a re-creation/repro I suppose. Some knowledgeable eyes would be helpful. I doubt the auction house was 100% sure what they were. There was some nice early 20th or maybe slightly older NA pottery in the sale so figured NA is a possibility too maybe.

I don't recognize the shape of the second one as pre-Columbian, but I haven't seen all pre-Columbian pottery. And the initials? (Kids!)

The first one seems to have a flat base, but that could be the photos. If the base isn't perfectly flat, it could be pre-Columbian. Possibly Mexican.

I am afraid I will not be of much help with these. Neither are specifically familiar. It seems odd that the bowl shows a great deal of wear on the top, but not on the bottom.

Somewhat similar shapes occur in Caddo/Mississippian pottery. But they occur elsewhere as well.

 

seems like a strange place to carve your initials. Then again kids are…kids, as you say. I recall my neighbors father had some great old swords in a stand by the fireplace. I didn’t know anything about them but they looked old. My friend took one out and proceeded to chop at an old tree with it until the blade broke. I was much younger than him but still thought he was a total stupid ahole for doing so. Crazy to think someone would do so on a very old piece of pottery but not totally unbelievable.

If the bowl was used would it not make sense that implements going in an out would chip the rim? Otherwise the top paint looks worn from handling and time but not too much damage. Mississippian would be a fun alternative to Mesoamerica. I did not know about the Caddo subset of Mississippian culture. Thanks for tuning me into that.

They look old to me too, esp that damage on the bottom of #2. 500+ years old? No clue. The spout on that one gives me a Peru vibe.
