As for the price: The piece was out of its normal habitat, where no one would normally be looking for it. That's my general MO - "buy jewelry from the toy dealer and your toys from a jewelry guy." The seller has a good reputation, but the item doesn't really fit where you found it and the seller wants it outta there.

Had to pay a bit more for this than I usually do for such things but where will you see another for $20.00? 13" Haeger heron or stork vase.

I know someone who hunts Haeger and she's never turned one up. There can't have been a lot of them.

 

Bought two pieces in a local thrift today. It was all I could find but... one is marked 14k and the other was marked a mix of 14k and 18k. "K" thanks and off they went! Nothing high weight, but better than nothing.

 

A quick internet search doesn't bring up any. I have a Haeger book around here somewhere. Will have to try and look it up.

 

Now I'm curious too. I didn't know they made any.

The ceramic piece looks Mexican to me. Almost bought a little piece of Tonala today but figured even at $1 it wasn't worth the effort. The stick pin looks like Avon.

First time posting in the finds thread but I just gotta share my copper day last weekend!
First a box. I was so perplexed about the guy on the left lurching towards the others untill I noticed the ball game in the bottom right corner and realised he had just rolled the ball! French?
Then the biggie. Planter? Log bin? Internet says both. I have no room for it but had to have it. So now it's at my parents' by the woodstove holding firewood. I forgot to get a pic of the pretty vertical riveted side seam. I am in love with it.

 

Boules, lawn bowling or bocce for the game on the box - depends on where you are. It's still played in Italy by all sorts of guys. The big copper lump is a big copper lump. No idea what you did with it originally, but I'd say it makes a good firewood holder.

My scores of today. Also probably for the week. I found two tag sales that looked interesting, but both are so far out I'd spend more on time and gas than the stuff is worth.

Horizon patter (looked it up) casserole. No lid. Paid $1.75, which is about 10% of retail. Three lapel pins - Hartford Whalers, Hood dairy (local, or was), and Coasties. The deal of the day were the two jewelry bits. The earrings are in their original box - 14k white gold. The other was a set. The bracelet is 14k and cording or leather, and the necklace is 18k with beads. The pendant is a pre-Euros Italian coin in a 14k bezel. Bracelet, necklace and pendant signed Milor, so probably from a TV shopping channel. Under $30 the lot - the pins were a trade for that sailboat painting I found for about $3 and a Schiaparelli hat box that needed a better home. It's now being shop decor in the vintage clothing section of an antique store.

 

Seconded re: Boules. Here in France most villages have a special court in the village square, if not then the gravel parking lot in the same area will suffice. You often see the older men gathered on a summer afternoon/evening.
