Looks like a hippie dippie stash bag. What are the dimensions? How long is the strap?

On the other hand... That red vinyl cord makes one think it might have been a summer camp project.

I think this was a kit. I vaguely remember them.

Looks to me like very likely a kit, such as easily available in the 60s-70s from the Tandy leather Company. Red lacing very possibly dyed leather, but could be plastic; either might have come with the kit.

Looks like a vintage leather crafting kit.Charlie,is that stamped medallion marked ? Could be 60's,but poss 40's-50's.

Yeah, the red does look earlier than the 1960s.

Interesting thanks mate, I wonder if the medallion piece is just something someone added and not part of the kit

Can't see any marks, but could be on reverse

I'd think the medallion part of kit. And off-centered application may well point to a child's project.

Just a note: the Tandy kits had no markings; they were just leather parts, cut to shape and hole-punched, and enough lace to complete, plus instructions. One could assemble them as-is, or tool or stamp the leather, as many people did.
This one clearly not tooled, but I'd think the medallion was added and not part of the kit.

I know this is probably just a mark from use but does this from your last photo look anything like writing when you view it in person?

Don't think this era quite right. Would more likely have been tooled.

    Blows raspberries @Debora ;)

Yeah, sixties into seventies. Not Tandy, I can't remember who made them, I'll search the brain cell.

    Hi sis

Looking at it in hand it looks like someone has written something on paper on top of it I think, doesn't look like a manufacturing mark

I remember that stuff! LOL. Yes, I'm an aging hippy. I saw a meme the other day that said "I'm aging like a fine banana." Yup.
