How Old Might This Tagua Nut Bead Necklace Be?

I’m posting 9 pieces/sets of jewelry today and will appreciate any and all information and opinions the jewelry experts wish to offer. I paid about $4 for this 42” tagua nut (vegetable ivory) bead necklace (at least I’m assuming it’s made from tagua nuts). I realize it’s not worth much, but haven’t yet found another one like it with graduated beads of this size/shape, so I’m thinking maybe it’s from the 1980s, but am wondering if anyone has a different opinion as to its age.

You might try joining Beadman-your stuff on facebook. He seems very knowledgeable. I follow him and have learned a lot just skimming his posts.

Thank you Lark--I de-activated my facebook account several years ago for various reasons and can't bring myself to re-activate it even though I know it can be a good source of information on many topics.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I hear you on that! In many ways I would like to deactivate mine. The only thing stopping me is that there are certain people with whom I would almost never be in contact without that account.

Most of the FB friends I care about occasionally email and less frequently call or text. These are friends I knew in the past and want to keep in touch with, all across the country (and one in Canada). If I wasn't on FB we would be in touch, but not as frequently. I'm terrible about answering emails very quickly -- so I make the communication worse, I suppose. Thanks for the thoughts.

As much as I dislike FB, I'm sure I would have kept my FB account active too if I had friends from the past and all over the country that I wanted to keep in touch with, but we're lucky that all of our remaining family and friends are within easy driving distances and we do a lot of texting (first choice), emailing (second choice), and phoning (last choice). We discovered that our college-age grandkids don't check voicemails.

I don't know her age, but I gather that people in their 20s and 30s in general are not prone to making phone calls. Some of them do email, but I think texting is preferred overall. And social media...

    she turns 38 soon.

We do face time on occasion.......but sometimes I just like to hear her voice on the phone......
